Led by Junior Kindergarten teacher Marisa Daihl, this program is designed for campers entering Collegiate’s Junior Kindergarten to introduce them to each other, the teachers and the campus prior to the start of school. Each day features a different on-campus “field trip” which allows the new student to become more familiar with Collegiate’s layout and the Junior Kindergarten’s daily routine. Our goal is to provide campers an opportunity to have a smooth transition and feel more at ease when the school year begins.  

Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss is on the loose! Come have fun reading and learning about Dr. Seuss through silly games, crafts and crazy food like fish cupcakes! You can expect a special appearance by the Cat in the Hat and and  a “delicious” treat of Green Eggs and Ham! Join Kindergarten teacher Kay Orr for a camp that won’t be a bore and will leave the kids wanting more!

Young at Art

Explore a variety of art mediums- from watercolor to paper mâché, oil pastel to clay. Young artists will create a different project each day and try their hands at drawing, sculpting, collage, and printmaking. Join artist and Kindergarten teacher Heidi Blackburn as she engages young artists in this fabulous camp.

Boxing Bash

We hear so often that we should think outside of the box, but this week, we'll also think above, below, beside, and within the box, creating large scale mazes. Students will create large scale mazes, castles, toys, games, puzzles, and gifts, all with cardboard as our starting point. Campers can look forward to a morning of fun, creativity and ingenuity. Stevie Butler, an experienced art teacher, former camp counselor and current elementary school teacher is ready to box bash!

Sew Beyond the Basics

This camp is for the young home sewer who has access to a sewing machine, basic knowledge of how to use it and is excited to learn more. Attendees need to have either taken the earlier camp - Sew Easy, So Fun - or are already experienced using and threading their own machines. Together, with Collyn Justus, campers will dive into reading and following various types of patterns. Students will also learn best pinning and cutting practices, the tricks and trials of different materials, trouble shooting snags, as well as easy alterations. Due to the unique needs of this camp, campers must be able to bring their own sewing machine to use for the week. Space is limited, so sign up early.

Camp Crayon

Come explore one of our most loved art tools, the amazing crayon! After exploring how they are made, we will use crayons in a variety of artistic projects. By incorporating literature, we will enjoy some clever books about these waxy utensils. Try your hand at coming up with new crayon names, and even making some of your own, with Mrs. Hendrix, beloved Collegiate Kindergarten teacher. Come join the fun at this colorful camp.

Around the World in Five Days

Get ready to fill up your passport! In Around the World in 5 Days, world travelers will experience immersion of the history, culture, and food of each continent! Activities include virtual fieldtrips in which we will learn greetings in several languages, enforce mapping skills, and create cultural crafts! Come join Hillary Boles, tenth grade World Literature and Composition teacher at Louisville Collegiate School, for this fun filled week. Mrs. Boles is excited to spend time with your young campers so she can share her joy of travel, exploration and learning about other cultures.

Magic Tree House!

Join Jack, Annie and Mary Pope Osborne for a week of Magic Tree House exploration! Through reading, art, and acting we will use our imaginations to transport ourselves on an adventure with Jack and Annie. This week will be a blast for the young reader who loves this fictional series. Adventurers will delve into the various aspects of our favorite Magic Tree House novels by exploring setting, plot, and character traits. Readers will enjoy the fantasy action of author Mary Pope Osborne by joining Mrs. Stevie Trent, experienced elementary school teacher and part-time arts and crafter for this program!

Math Mania

Games, food and fun; maybe these aren't the words that come to mind when you think of math but, 3rd Grade Collegiate teacher, Mr. Jim Schindler does! A week of fun math activities and games will be used to reinforce and apply a variety of math skills and concepts as children use cereal and snacks to solve problems. Campers will explore measurement by making ice cream in a bag, apply math in game-show activities, and discover that MATH IS FUN!

Early and Late Registration: Registrations completed by May 1 will be discounted $10. Registrations less than 7 days before the start of a camp will be subject to a $10 late registration fee.
 
Lunch: Students participating in both a morning and afternoon camp or an all-day camp, should bring a sack lunch Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, a pizza lunch is provided for these campers. We are unable to provide lunch this Summer due to the renovation of the Dining Room and Kitchen. Click here to view details of this exciting project!
