At the Louisville Collegiate School, we believe that athletics go hand in hand with our strong academic programming. Its purpose is to contribute and enhance all facets of the student while teaching valuable life-skills such as team work, hard work, goal setting, commitment and follow through. It is because of this that we designed and aligned our student-athlete, parent, and coaches Code of Conduct around Collegiate’s Four Character Cornerstones of Respect, Honor, Compassion, and Responsibility that are integrated into the overall framework of the school.
It is the mission of our Athletic Department to implement a K-12 Athletic model. We strive to provide all students the opportunity to participate actively in team and individual sports from elementary and middle school skill development to varsity interscholastic competition in ways that encourage and foster confidence, cooperation, leadership skills while maintaining a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. Our Upper School students complete in a competitive environment under the umbrella of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. (KHSAA). The Athletic Department will provide proper facilities, equipment, and coaching to see that each student-athlete has an opportunity to reach his or her athletic potential.
Although victories and championships are exciting and means for celebration, the strength and viability of our program are determined not by wins and losses but rather by the development and character of each student athlete.
