Head of Lower School


Tiffany Bridgewater joined the Collegiate community in 2015 after spending the first part of her career in the Washington, DC area. Prior to serving at Collegiate, Tiffany served as the Head of Lower School at Norwood School in Bethesada, MD, and before joining Norwood School, Tiffany was the Associate Director of Lower School at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia. Tiffany’s career in education also included being a classroom teacher, middle school advisor, dorm parent, Director of Diversity Development and Community Outreach, Admission Outreach Coordinator, and an adjunct professor at Belmont University in Nashville, TN and Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Tiffany earned her B.A. in English from Fisk University, an M.A. in Literature and Language, and an M.A. in Education both from Marymount University.
 
Tiffany is a whole-child educator; going out of her way to promote the long-term academic and social-emotional development of every child. She makes it a priority to be an active presence throughout the Lower School; attending classes, student events and presentations.
Tiffany has a strong and extensive commitment to diversity and inclusion. She has been active in advancing this work with schools around the country, maintaining a national presence in this effort having served as a co-chair for the 2013 NAIS People of Color Conference. She also led a workshop for the 2015 NAIA People of Color Conference, which examined the negative media messaging has on school age girls. Additionally, Tiffany has her own educational blog called principalaim and continues to showcase her expertise as a presenter at national conferences around the country.

Tiffany loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys reading, supporting her favorite football team and listening to great music.
