Kindergarten is a special time that gives young children the opportunity to creatively explore their unique talents and abilities, deepen their self-confidence and independence and extend their academic experiences and abilities.
In Kindergarten, math, literacy skills and social studies are explored in independent, small groups and whole-group settings providing students with academic as well as social-emotional experiences. Teachers emphasize a challenging, cross-curricular experience which stimulates a diversity of thought and provides experiences in individual and cooperative problem solving.
In order to facilitate character development and critical thinking skills in children, the developmental needs of young students must be met. In order to accomplish this goal, our Kindergarten faculty establishes a caring, supportive relationship with each student – relationships that nurture the whole child.
Kindergarten students become more self-aware and independent through the course of the school year. The Kindergarten program prepares students for a smooth transition into our First Grade program.
